Ren at Green Tile Social Club Lunar New Year

Ren had the honor of being a cafe vendor at Green Tile Social Club’s 2025 Lunar New Year – a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and creativity while ringing in the Year of the Snake.

Founded by a group of four friends, Green Tile Social Club hosts pop-up events in New York City to reconnect young Asian Americans with their cultural roots. Through the game of mahjong, they’ve become a hub for community and celebration of Asian heritage while offering a welcoming environment for both newcomers and experienced players alike.

As we set up our booth amidst the bustling energy of mahjong tables, we knew this would be an event to remember. We whisked matcha the entire afternoon, serving over 300 cups of our signature matcha lattes.

Being surrounded by the many talented Asian businesses and creatives at the event fueled an overwhelming sense of pride in our heritage and the powerful stories we’re able to tell through our work. More than just a chance to serve delicious drinks, it was an opportunity to be part of something bigger and a reminder of the beauty of our Asian culture.
