Jay Ceramics and Ren Collaboration

The rituals of tea and ceramics often go hand in hand – each cup, each bowl, and each moment steeped in care and intention.

With that in mind, we are extremely excited to share our first-ever artist collaboration with Jay Ceramics, a New York-based studio that brings Korean pottery traditions into timeless, functional pieces. Together with Judy Suh, founder of Jay Ceramics, we created an exclusive collection of matcha bowls designed by Ren and handcrafted by Jay Ceramics. No two bowls are exactly alike, as the natural variations in shape and glaze make each one feel personal.

When we visited Judy’s studio, we were able to get a closer look at her process in person. She guided us through the intricate steps of throwing, firing, and glazing and even let us try our hand at pottery throwing (a very humbling experience that deepened our appreciation for the skill behind every handmade piece).

Jay Ceramics was also a part of our journey at Ren’s first pop-up cafe set on a Williamsburg rooftop, where Judy’s work was available alongside our signature matcha lattes.

Seeing everyone pick up and interact with the Ren matcha bowls and other handmade ceramic pieces by Judy was a moment of gratitude for us. It was an incredible feeling to have so many people come by our first public pop-up cafe, to share in our vision, and to mark the start of something special with such a meaningful artist collaboration.

Matcha bowls available in limited quantities, exclusively through Jay Ceramics and Ren.
